Veterinary Treatment
We do not have a vet at the Animal Centre and the staff cannot make assessments on your pets, this must be done by a qualified vet. Nor do we provide routine treatments such as worm and flea, and these must also be obtained from a vet.
Financial Assistance
If your pet needs veterinary treatment and you are on income support or housing (or other means-tested benefit) we may be able to provide some help, usually £25 towards the cost of visiting the vet.
All medication and follow up appointments have to be paid for by the applicant. We do not give a voucher for routine treatments such as vaccinations, or worm and flea treatment.
All applicants must be on benefits and proof of benefit and name and address must be produced at the centre. We do not issue vouchers over the phone, they must be collected from the animal centre. Each case is individually assessed and does not mean that all applicants are successful.
You may be eligible to have your pet treated at the RSPCA Greater Manchester Animal Hospital, open 7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday:

Neutering Schemes & Financial Assistance
All too often the RSPCA is asked to take in unwanted puppies and kittens. Our aim is to neuter as many animals as possible to prevent unwanted litters being born.
The branch operates neutering schemes for cats and miscellaneous animals. We may be able to offer some financial assistance towards the cost of neutering your pet. Please contact the Animal Centre for advice.
