Photo of Meg only days after her operation.
Meg was operated on on Tuesday and her damaged hind leg was removed. She is now well enough to play, with foster mum Jean keeping a close eye on her.

Meg, the 'Staffie' puppy, sadly had to have her damaged hind leg removed on Tuesday. However, she went home the same evening to be cared for by her foster mum, Jean Spencer, the Animal Centre Manager. Although Meg was in some pain during the night and slept fitfully, she was much brighter on Wednesday and even attempted to play with Lass, Jean's own dog. Her movement has to be limited to allow her to recover from the operation but all the signs are good that she will make full recovery and be back to her normal self. The miracle is that though she was subject to terrible cruelty she is a very happy and loving puppy. Letters, cards, presents and donations towards the vet fees continue to arrive for her and the trustees, staff and volunteers have been overwhelmed by people's generosity. Many only give a partial address or no address at all so it is only through our website and our next newsletter that we are able to express our thanks.
