Rochdale Animal Centre

Our Rabbit Awareness Day was held at the centre on 24th April.

Thanks to staff and volunteers it was a great success -  37 free health checks (done by our local vet Wendy Lane) and 31 adult rabbits microchipped for free.  We were also able to give out a limited amount of neutering vouchers.

The main aim of the day was to give rabbit owners the opportunity to discuss their rabbit and ask advice.  Was their hutch big enough?  Were they on the right diet?  Is there anything else we can do to improve the quality of their life?  Should I get a partner for my single rabbit!?

One thing highlighted by the vet session was that a more thorough check needs to be kept on their rabbits' teeth! 

Let's hope we have gone some way to helping local people help their pets......
